After a lot of leaks and rumors, Ubisoft has officially announced that Assassin’s Creed Mirage is the next game in the popular series. This was announced by their official Twitter account. Along with the tweet came an official concept image. More details about Mirage will be revealed at Ubisoft Forward on September 10.
There have been many rumors about what Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be about. A few days ago, crucial information about the new Assassin’s Creed game was potentially leaked. The title was also said to be Mirage at the time. The game takes place in Baghdad at the end of the 9th century and will have Basim as the main character. Basim originally appeared as a character in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
The game will also go ‘back to basics’ according to multiple reports, inspired by the first Assassin’s Creed. For example, it would not feature prominent RPG mechanics like dialogue choices and leveling system. Additionally, Eagle Vision is back after a long time as it made its last appearance in Syndicate. The drone bird remains with Eagle Vision. There will also be more cities to explore, as has become standard with the newer Assassin’s Creed games. We can expect more details about the game to be revealed soon at Ubisoft Forward.
In addition to the details on Mirage, a DLC for the game was also recently spotted on the Ubisoft Store. The DLC is titled The Forty Thieves, which could be a subtle reference to Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves, a popular tale from One Thousand and One Nights.
