Scyther and Scizor are coming to Pokémon Unite on September 28 – Effinate Games

Pokémon Unite is set to introduce Scyther, a Bug/Flying type from Generation I, and Scizor, a Bug/Steel type from Generation II, on 28 September 2022.

In line with the 1 year anniversary plan for Pokémon Unite, Scythians and Scizor joins the fray after the release of Mew and Dodrio. It is said that Scizor will be the evolution of Scyther. However, it is up to the player to decide if they want to evolve Scyther into Scizor or continue playing with Scyther throughout the game.

The addition of Scizor and Scyther may affect the gameplay of Unite, as it’s been a while since Pokémon released an all-rounder. Since the release of Delphox, Pokémon has focused on releasing too many attackers. Now, after Dodrio (speedster) comes Scizor. As such, a new all-rounder can balance the game and strengthen the level of strategy employed.

Dataminers have speculated about Scizor and Scyther’s skills. The first move is said to resemble Melee. The other ability Scizor has is that it deals more hits to the enemy, which could be Bullet Punch, one of Scizor’s signature moves in Pokémon titles. Another feature is X scissors, where Scizor crashes through the path of green phantoms. Unite Move depends on what development you have. For Scyther, the Pokémon hits the opponent with multiple phantoms. For Scizor, the Pokémon spawns five phantoms, but only Scizor attacks.

Some fans are under the impression that Pokémon favor Generation 1 and 2, despite only one Generation 5 Pokémon being playable. However, it has not been revealed if Pokémon has any intentions of using additional Pokémon from previous generations, despite the game having certain Pokémon from previous generations as non-player characters and objective Pokémon. As such, it is necessary for Pokémon to hear players’ prayers and can follow up immediately.
