Rockstar responds to “illegal” Grand Theft Auto VI leak, says it won’t delay game – Effinate Games

Rockstar Games has officially responded to the massive Grand Theft Auto VI leak from this weekend, confirming that the leak is real as well as “illegal” in nature.

“We recently suffered a network breach in which an unauthorized third party illegally accessed and downloaded confidential information from our systems, including early development footage for the next Grand Theft Auto,” Rockstar said in a announcement.

Despite the huge amount of media and data leaked for the game, the developer noted that they do not foresee any delays on Grand Theft Auto VI.

“At this time, we do not expect any disruption to our live gaming services or any long-term effect on the development of our ongoing projects,” the company said.

The company said they are “extremely disappointed to have any details about our next game shared with you all in this way”, but committed to whatever their original time frame for releasing the title was, saying that work “will continue as planned.”

Rockstar added: “We remain as committed as ever to delivering an experience for you, our players, that truly exceeds your expectations. We’ll be updating everyone again soon, and of course will properly introduce you to this next game when it’s ready. We would like to thank everyone for their continued support through this situation.”
