Riot is testing changes to flashes for a few Valorant agents in PBE – Effinate Games

Valorant is conducting tests to evaluate the effects of several potential tweaks to flash for some agents, particularly initiators and duelists, in the public beta environment.

The gameplay of Valorant is continuously refined and updates are released between each new law to facilitate this process. Players have the opportunity to gain early access to upcoming game updates by participating in testing in the public beta environment. These updates may include potential upgrades to agent talents as well as map design changes.

During this week, Riot is reportedly testing some improvements to flash for a few Valorant Agents. The test changes will provide more consistency in the responsibilities of Skye, KAY/O, Reyna and Yoru, in addition to bringing 5.01 Phoenix. The purpose of the test is to ensure that the initiators do not outclass some of the Duelists when it comes to producing kills for themselves based on their flash.

For promoters, Cloud‘s guiding lights and KAY/O‘s FLASH/DRIVE will undergo tweaks aimed at increasing their overall teamplay output when coordinating with teammates and reducing some of their power when played alone, while still rewarding players for mastering their respective flash.

For duelists, players can expect adjustments to be made Reyna‘s Leer. These modifications should give players more control over when Reyna can look for casting, and should also make the ability more effective as a potent angle-breaking weapon against enemies on maps with longer sight lines. In an effort to provide a power buff while maintaining the integrity of counterplay even when used outside of Dimensional Drift, Yoru‘s upgrade will make the duration of his flash abilities somewhat longer than before.

Riot is currently evaluating how the changes will work and adapt in the future. While the PBE is only available in NA, Valorant will provide a heads-up to all players. Full notes and changes will be posted on Valorant PBE subreddit on September 23 at 4 p.m. PT.
