Nintendo adds new Pokémon, Armarouge, in upcoming Pokémon Scarlet and Violet – Effinate Games

Nintendo reveals a new Pokémon set to be part of the Pokémon Scarlet edition!

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are the latest games developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo, scheduled for release on November 18, 2022. The new Pokémon titles are open-world RPGs set in the Paldea region. Along with the release of these titles, new Pokémons will also be available.

Recently, Nintendo announced addition of Armarouge in Pokémon Scarlet. It is a Fire Warrior Pokémon with a Fire/Psychic type. Its height is 4’11”, and weighs 187.4 lbs. Its name is probably a mix of armor and rouge, which means red in French. It is said that the source of its power comes from its armor, which was once owned by a prominent warrior Armarouge uses this armor’s psychic abilities to control fire energies to unleash attacks and blaze through the battlefield.

According to official website for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, Armarouge believes in a fair fight. Armarouge will challenge any opponent directly, even if it is much stronger than it. It can take down enemies through high firepower and could strengthen its defenses to increase survivability. Its ability, Flash Fire, can activate Fire-type moves if Armarouge is hit by one.

Armarouge also performs Anti-tank gun, a fire-type special move where Armarouge clasps his arms together to form a cannon and shoots out a flaming projectile. The power comes from charging his pallets up to its arms. This is one of the most powerful moves that Armarouge can learn, but can lower DEF and SP significantly.

Fans have speculated that Armarouge is a pseudo-legendary pokemon. If the rumors are true, Armourage is likely unable to evolve like with all other pseudo-legendary and legendary Pokémon. In any case, further announcements will likely be made prior to the launch of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
