Ebb Software has shared a long block of gameplay for Mockerytheir new HR Giger tribute adventure game.
The new gameplay has lots of creepy and ominous sections, as well as very unpleasant and squishy meat-related mechanics. Also possibly a mutant baby egg mechanism that is strangely powered by meatier bits.
Here is the new gameplay block:
Here’s a rundown of the announced games in 2020:
Scorn is an atmospheric first-person horror adventure game set in a nightmarish universe of strange shapes and gloomy tapestry.
It is designed around the idea of ”being thrown into the world”. Isolated and lost inside this dream-like world, you will explore different interconnected regions in a non-linear way. The disturbing environment is a character in itself.
Each location contains its own theme (story), puzzles, and characters that are integrated into creating a cohesive world. During the game you will open new areas, acquire different skill sets, weapons, different items and try to understand the sights you get.
- Coherent “embodied” world – Scorn takes place in an open world with various interconnected regions. Each region is a maze-like structure with different rooms and paths to discover. All storytelling takes place in-game, with no cutscenes to distract you from the gritty reality of the living, breathing world you’re in. But keep your eyes open – the game will show you no sympathy if you miss something important on your restless journey travels. Everything has a reason and a purpose – you just have to find out what it is.
- Full Body Awareness – Players will experience better immersion by being aware of the character’s body and movement. The interaction with the world is realistic – objects are picked up with your hands (instead of just floating in the air), machines and instruments are operated by grabbing the controls, etc.
- Inventory and ammunition management – is defined and limited. It plays a big role in keeping the player in an even greater state of awareness throughout the game. Players will need to think about when to fight and when to take cover and how their actions affect the world around them. Different play styles will be necessary to progress.
Mockery is set to launch on October 21st for Windows PC (via Steam) and Xbox Series X|S. The game will also be on Xbox Game Pass on day one.
