Elden Ring won the Best Game of the Year at the Japan Game Awards 2022 – Effinate Games


Elden Ring receives an award for the Best Game category at the Japan Game Awards 2022!

As part of the Tokyo Game Show 2022, the Japan Game Awards set the stage to present an honor to hit games released from 1 April 2021until 31 March 2022. Different titles were nominated for each category presented at the awards ceremony. The most prestigious honor, known as Grand Award, was gifted the Elden Ring. Hidetaka Miyazaki, the director of Elden Ring, received an award from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan for his contribution to the growth of the country’s gaming industry. During his remarks, Miyazaki expressed his appreciation and gratitude to all fans of The Elden Ring.

Elden Ring has garnered widespread acclaim due to the impressive visual effects it offers, the quality of the narrative it presents, and, most importantly, the difficulty and excitement of its gameplay elements. The Ring of Fire has been positively regarded ever since it was originally released on February 25, 2022. By the end of March 2022, it had sold around 13.4 million copies worldwide, and by the end of June 2022, it had sold 16 .6 million copies. Furthermore, it was the best-selling game in multiple regions between February and March 2022 and is the fastest-selling Bandai Namco game of all time.

Elden Ring also received Awards of Excellence along with nine other titles such as Resident Evil Village, Sky: Children of the Light, Tales of Arise, Lost Judgment, Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker, Pokemon Legends: Arceus, Horizon Forbidden West, Ghostwire: Tokyo and Kirby and the Forgotten Land.

Fans have been wondering if Elden Ring will be recognized as Game of the Year at the upcoming The Game Awards 2022 in light of the prestigious award that has been presented to the developer and publisher of Elden Ring. Either way, fans have high expectations for what FromSoftware can offer in the future, with Elden Ring now serving as the gold standard in game development.
