2K Games confirms they were hacked, tells customers to change passwords – Effinate Games

Not long after a massive breach and leak too Grand Theft Auto VIRockstar parent company 2K Games has confirmed they have also been hacked.

2K confirmed that it “became aware that an unauthorized third party illegally accessed the credentials of one of our vendors for the help desk platform that 2K uses to provide support to our customers.”

The company added that the scammer “sent a communication to certain players containing a malicious link” and that you should of course not “open any emails or click on any links that you receive from the 2K Games support account.”

2K said that any player who clicked on these scam links should immediately reset their passwords stored in their web browsers, and that 2K, like other official vendors, will never ask for your password or personal information.

Due to the seriousness of the issue, their support portal will remain offline until it is fully resolved. 2K’s support system has been used for various NBA and WWE games, as well as other non-sports titles such as Border areas series.

2K and Rockstar’s second breakup saw tons of early gameplay footage Grand Theft Auto VI leaked, which Rockstar then confirmed is legal – and illegal.
